Start with the work.
Then plan the change.

A practical checklist for preparing an HR technology rollout.

Five things to map

Use this checklist with HR, payroll, IT, and team managers.

  1. List the workflows causing friction

Record where people chase updates, repeat data entry, or lose context. Prioritize the work with the greatest operational impact.

  2. Name an owner for each workflow

Identify who prepares, reviews, approves, and supports the work. Resolve ownership gaps before configuring a system.

  3. Inventory your employee data

Document source systems, field definitions, duplicates, missing records, and documents. Agree who can authorize migration.

  4. Define acceptance scenarios

Write down the tasks teams must complete successfully before rollout, including exceptions and approval paths.

  5. Plan adoption and support

Agree the rollout sequence, staff guidance, and the route for questions. Set aside time to review issues after launch.

a little more orderly.
